Sala Kahle – Goodbye by Taku.
|My lovely Zimbabwean blogger friend had graced SOG with her presence, and I couldn’t be happier. Takudzwanashe Dangana is the author of The Baobab blog and the host of the highly intriguing podcast called THE BAOBAB. You will find all kinds of things regarding books, motivation, and many more. She has been an incredible support system, and I will always be grateful for her constant encouragement and silent prayers. Please visit her blog and listen to her podcast. You’ll thank me later. She was also featured in the Body Insecurities series earlier last month, where she revealed her personal experiences with her body insecurities, and it was such a beautiful read. You can check the article right here.
She wrote a short story about a wife who left her spouse because their relationship was deteriorating, and they were drifting apart. I was stunned when she told me that the setting of the story would be in South Africa. Yeah!! The amount of creativity is on another level. It is what I like to refer to as “creative writing 101.” I hope you find the story entertaining and informative.
Enjoy the read!!

Sala Kahle – Goodbye
Titled: Sala Kahle
By Takudzwanashe
My Uber is 20 minutes away, giving me plenty of time to pour out my pain, fury, and regrets onto this piece of paper. This house has been a haven on both good and bad days. It has kept our anxieties, great experiences, and fights private, preventing them from becoming public. I have no regrets because meeting you was one of the best things that ever happened to me. You taught me how to love, slaughter, and dress a chicken, and how to share with others.
It breaks my heart to think that this could be our last meeting. Qhawe, are you ready to let go as well? I felt we still had a chance to save our marriage, but the phone call from your lawyer changed everything. Is our relationship so far gone that you had no choice but to go to court? I understand that we are all to blame: as we grew older, we began to grow apart. We chose to abandon our union to pursue our dreams. We worked hard at work to get a promotion, but we failed to save our marriage.
Qhawe, I’ve decided to return to Limpopo because there is nothing left in Johannesburg for me. I should get out of here since there are so many places that remind me of you. It would be horrible to have to live in the City of Gold without you. The Rosebank library reminds me of the day we met, and I would gladly revisit the experience.
Stay well and safe!
Farewell!

The story is indeed relatable. We get caught up in a lot of things as humans, and we neglect our relationships, which eventually leads to two people drifting apart. Is it possible that we fell out of love or that we just drifted apart? Let me know what you think in the comments area.
I once wrote a three-part story about the challenges of adulthood. I had never written a story before this one. Takudzwanashe was the one guiding me through it. Look it up below.
From my heart to yours
